Mallorca is a holiday destination blessed with all year round warm weather and limited rain, with only 300mm falling annually on the southern plains, and with almost 5 times this falling on the mountain slopes that cut through the island. The majority of this rainfall comes during autumn, mainly October and November, which is also the time of year when occasionally snow may be found on the higher peaks. Even so unlike many places, autumn and winter can produce its fair share of clear skies and warm days - the average winter temperature being 15°C.

If peace and tranquillity is what you're looking for the autumn and spring months are the best for avoiding the majority of tourists yet still having warm enough weather to bathe in the sea and enjoy in the sedate pace of life. January and February is also the only time of year you can experience the spectacular sight of the almond tree blossoms, which fill the island with colour.

If 40°C heat and hustle and bustle sounds more like your idea of a holiday then the summer months on Mallorca are ideal. July and August are the hottest months on the island, with sun drenched days and balmy nights. It can become very dusty in these dry times but unless you're desperate to keep your car clean it shouldn't be anything to worry about, and with peak season water sports available you'll be too busy to notice!
